2023 Kia Telluride
The Kia Telluride is an unassuming but impressive SUV. It comes well-equipped with power, features, and technology without a high price tag. For the 2023 model year, the Telluride gains an updated front grille, redesigned headlights, and a new digital instrument panel with two 12.3-inch screens. All trims now come standard with navigation along with a Wi-Fi hotspot. Here's a look at some details for the 2023 Kia Telluride.
Trim Levels
The entry-level Telluride LX starts the lineup with 18-inch wheels and LED headlights. A step up to the S adds 20-inch wheels, a sunroof, and roof rails, while the EX has heated, power-folding exterior side mirrors and a hands-free liftgate. Taking another step up to the SX gets you dual-pane sunroofs, LED fog lights, and auto-tilting side mirrors. The SX-Prestige adds upgrades in the cabin.
The X-Line and X-Pro versions of the EX, SX, and SX Prestige have a lifted suspension, higher roof rails, and distinct exterior trim. Finally, the X-Pro version of the SX and SX Prestige has all-terrain tires.
Engine
Every Telluride model gets power from a 3.8-liter V-6 engine that puts out 291 horsepower and generates 262 pound-feet of torque. It works with Kia's eight-speed automatic transmission and comes standard with front-wheel drive. All-wheel drive is optional for all but the SX Prestige, which comes standard with all-wheel drive.
Performance
The V-6 under the Telluride's hood is smooth and refined. Models equipped with all-wheel drive will have a snow and all-wheel drive lock mode for extra traction on slippery roads. A new feature for 2023 is Downhill Brake Control, which helps slow the Telluride when descending a hill without having to press on the brake. When equipped, this SUV can tow up to 5,500 pounds.
Interior
There's room for up to eight people in the Telluride, or seven with the optional captain's chairs. The entry-level models have simulated leather upholstery, and you'll get heated front seats and a power-adjustable driver's seat in the S. The EX has leather upholstery and ventilated front seats, and moving further up the lineup gets you a heated steering wheel, heated and ventilated second-row seats, and upgraded leather upholstery.
Technology features start with a 12.3-inch touchscreen with integrated navigation, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a six-speaker stereo, satellite radio, and Bluetooth. A 110-volt power outlet is available in the higher trims, and you can also get a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, a 10-speaker Harman Kardon stereo, and extra USB ports.
Safety Features
Every 2023 Kia Telluride has a comprehensive list of driver aids. It includes adaptive cruise control, a blind-spot warning system, rear cross-traffic alert, forward collision warning, and a lane-keep assist system. A blind-view monitor that provides a live view of your blind spot comes in the SX, which also adds a surround-view camera and Kia's Highway Driver Assist 2 system. This allows the driver to change lanes just by bumping the turn signal. An upgraded forward collision warning system that can detect oncoming traffic and cross traffic and adds evasive steering assist is another added feature for the SX.
