Walk the Battlefield Trail where Southern troops kept General Sherman at bay or traverse the Historic Causeway Road Trail which saw the Southern retreat. The park also holds a Civil War cemetery and a WWII cemetery for those who like a spookier adventure.

4. Canoe for You

If you have been looking for an excuse to hit the road loaded down with a canoe or kayak, then Aiken State Park in Windsor, SC is just the right place for you. Enjoy an almost hour drive West before arriving at the South Fork Edisto River Trail, which is a little over a mile and a half long, and takes adventurers through a tunnel of tree branches in a serene setting.

When you want a break from paddling along, the Jungle Nature Trail provides spur trails that take you through different terrains or lead you to an artesian well.
