1. Chopstix Orangeburg

When you feel like ordering in, this is your place. We like to begin with the vegetable spring rolls, the chicken yakitori, and the egg drop soup. For your main meal, the hibachi bowls are tasty. Try the teriyaki chicken, shrimp, or tofu, or pick the combo. All come with rice and vegetables. We also like the seafood dishes, such as the tilapia, catfish, fried shrimp, or a combo, all of which are served with fries or fried rice.

They also have a misu, shoyu, and tonkotsu ramen as well as General Tso chicken, Mei Fun, lo mein, honey garlic chicken, orange chicken, mixed vegetables, and much more. If you order during lunchtime, their specials are under $7. Please note that they are open for takeout and delivery only. Chopstix can be found at 1000A Chestnut St.

2. Wong’s

This family-owned restaurant serves authentic food and service with a smile. You’ll find all of the traditional dishes, such as chow mein, egg foo young, lo mein, fried rice, and chop suey. We love their egg rolls and teriyaki beef to whet the appetite. Then have the roast pork or chicken chow mein, the beef with shrimp, the vegetable fried rice, or the house special.

The combination platters are also a good option, and they are very affordable at around $6. Wong’s also has excellent wings with a variety of sauces and dry rubs. Be sure to check out the specials as well. If you’re in a hurry and want a quick bite, take advantage of the drive through. Please note that they accept cash only. Find Wong’s at 1650 Boulevard St.

3. China Kitchen

Dine in this unassuming joint and enjoy a variety of home-cooked foods. Try a combination plate, which comes with ham, pork, rice, and either an egg roll or wings. We like the beef with broccoli, the shrimp with lobster sauce, and the sweet and sour chicken.

If you like spicy food, try the chicken, beef, or shrimp with garlic sauce, the hot and spicy dish, or an item from the Szechuan gourmet menu, such as the Kung Boo pork. The restaurant is located at 1309 Chestnut St.
