Trim Levels of the 2025 Kia Niro Plug-in Hybrid

The EX and SX Touring have similar styles with standard paint color selections in Snow White Pearl, Runway Red, Mineral Blue, Steel Gray, Cityscape Green, Aurora Black Pearl, and Interstellar Gray. In the cabin, the EX has charcoal SynTex/cloth upholstery, while the SX Touring has charcoal perforated SynTex seating material.

Each model is equipped with a full parallel hybrid system and a 1.6-liter, four-cylinder motor that generates a net output of 180 horsepower and 195 lb-ft of torque. The PHEV powertrain is paired with a six-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission for efficient gear ratios and a front-wheel drivetrain. Charging with a Level 2 charger takes less than three hours.

Key EX Features

This Kia model comes with a variety of driver assistance software, including rear cross-traffic collision avoidance, forward collision avoidance, lane departure warning, and driver attention warning. Highway Driving Assist works to maintain a safe following distance at a regulated cruising speed on the highway. A navigation-based adaptive cruise control system is also standard.

The EX is outfitted with an advanced 10.25-inch central touchscreen with an integrated navigation system for turn-by-turn destination assistance. The infotainment unit is compatible with Android and Apple connected apps, Bluetooth music streaming, and a sophisticated voice recognition system that responds to casual voice prompts.

Key SX Touring Features

The selection of driver assistance technology for the SX Touring is the same as the EX, with the addition of a front parking sensor that warns when the PHEV gets too close to pedestrians and other vehicles at low speeds. The second-tier trim also elevates the Smart Key system with Digital Key 2.0, which enables shareable virtual keys on compatible smart devices for added vehicle entry and startup convenience.

The SX Touring has upgrades such as an auto-dimming rearview mirror, power-folding exterior mirrors with LED turn signals, and a sunroof with a power-adjustable sunshade. This model elevates cabin comfort with a heated steering wheel, heated outboard seats, heated and ventilated front seats, and an integrated memory system for the driver’s seat to recall two position presets.
