Nobody ever plans on getting into a car crash. But if it happens, you want to be in a vehicle that prioritizes your safety. The 2024 Kia Forte meets top safety standards to keep you and your loved ones protected in an accident. Let’s look at the safety rating of the 2024 Forte.

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) gave the 2024 Forte an overall safety rating of 4/5 stars. This safety rating is based on the Kia Forte’s performance in frontal crash, side-impact, and rollover tests. The 2024 Forte received 4/5 stars for the frontal test. This means that the front airbags and seatbelts work effectively to restrain passengers during a head-on collision.

The 2024 Forte received 5/5 stars in the side-impact test, with the side airbags providing adequate protection for the front and rear passengers. A 4/5 star rating in the rollover test shows there’s only a 10% risk of the Forte rolling over during a single-vehicle crash. With an overall four-star rating, the 2024 Forte provides adequate safety for everyone on board during a crash.

What are the Safety Features of the 2024 Forte?

Occupant Safety Features

All trims of the 2024 Forte are equipped with multiple airbags to cushion passengers during a crash. We have dual front advanced airbags and dual side airbags that protect the driver and front passenger from severe collision injuries. Full-length side curtain airbags cushion all passengers during a side impact.

Everyone on board should be buckled up for the airbags to work during a collision. Seatbelts prevent you from being ejected from the vehicle, which is almost always fatal. When traveling with young kids, use the LATCH attachment system in the Kia Forte to secure the car seats and maximize safety.

Active Safety Features

Besides the airbags, the 2024 Forte is equipped with an electronic stability control (ESC) system. On slippery roads, ESC adjusts braking and engine power to maintain the vehicle’s stability. It also helps control the vehicle during emergency braking.

The Forte also has a traction control system (TCS) that detects loss of traction on wet or icy roads and tight corners. If a tire loses its grip on the road, the system applies the brakes to that specific tire and cuts the engine’s power to prevent skidding.

Driver Assistance Technologies

The 2024 Forte comes with the Kia Wise suite of driver assistance technologies. These features can help prevent a collision from happening in the first place. Standard features include forward collision avoidance with pedestrian detection, lane keep assist, lane following assist, and driver attention warning. Higher trim levels add features such as rear cross-traffic collision warning, blind spot warning, cyclist detection, and safe exit warning.
