Enjoy Nature at Edisto Memorial Gardens

When in The Garden City, you have to visit Edisto Memorial Gardens — the perfect combination of man-made and natural beauty. What started with 5 acres of azaleas planted in the 1920s now includes at least 120 types of roses and more spread over 175 acres. The Gardens host events throughout the year, including the Children’s Garden Christmas with its drive-thru lights display and the annual Festival of Roses. This beautiful place is located off U.S. Highway 301 at 200 Riverside Drive SW. south carolina map

Check Out the South Carolina State Museum

You must plan a trip to the State Museum if you live in Orangeburg or visit frequently. The South Carolina State Museum is about a 45-minute drive, but completely worth it. It has both rotating and fixed exhibits that are sure to keep you and your family entertained all day. It also has a 4D theater, planetarium, and observatory along with something new every time you visit. The museum is located at 301 Gervais Street in Columbia.

Have fun on your adventures in and around Orangeburg. There’s far more to see and do than one article could cover, but these five activities offer a good place to start.
