Going on a trip in the RV has always been a popular vacation idea. The option enables us to get the family out of the house, connect with nature, and still enjoy a host of amenities. The Orangeburg, South Carolina, area is a great spot to head for a trip and has several options for places to stay that have outdoor activities where you and your family can safely practice physical distancing because of the pandemic. For a family-friendly place to stay, check out River Oaks Campground. Located on 100 acres in the Palmetto Valley, this campground offers a serene setting that will leave you feeling refreshed after your stay. It has a swimming pool, horse stables, and even a go-kart track. The sites are $45 per night. River Oakes is located at 524 Neeses Highway in Orangeburg.

  1. Home Stay RV Park 

Located near Edisto Memorial Gardens, Home Stay RV Park is another great place for an RV vacation. It’s located within the Four Holes Swamp, which is home to many endangered species. The park has a large stocked pond that’s perfect for fishing with the family. There’s plenty of outdoor space to get out and explore, play, and enjoy spending some time being away from home.   1. Sweetwater Lake Campground 

Lakefront RV camping with plenty of wide-open areas can be found at Sweetwater Lake Campground. It has easy-to-access pull-through sites with full hook-ups. You can spend your day at the lake and then enjoy a night by the fire with a drink while you roast some marshmallows.   1. River Bottom Farms Campground

Another great family campground to spend some time in your RV is River Bottom Farms Campground. It has a pool, an arcade, and a playground, so the kids will have lots to do to stay entertained. If you stay for a longer trip, you’ll be glad to know the campground offers a laundry room. You’ll also appreciate the store for any purchases you need to make. River Bottoms Farms Campground is at 357 Cedar Creek Road.

  1. Lake Aire Campground

Last but not least is Lake Aire Campground. Located about an hour from Orangeburg, this RV park is a great place to go to enjoy some time away. It has 92 large RV sites with full hook-ups, and most of the sites are pull-through. You can go fishing in the private stocked lake or enjoy swimming in the large pool. The campground also has horseshoe pits, a playground, and laundry facilities. It’s located at 4375 South Carolina Highway 162 in Hollywood.
