The future has arrived, and with it comes a whole new lineup of Kia hybrid vehicles. Kia is offering everything from a standard hybrid version of the traditional Optima to plug-in versions for even more fuel-saving technology. For total freedom from the pump, an all-electric version of the Niro is also now available. The choice is yours: Which Kia hybrid is right for you? 2020 Kia Niro

Niro Plug-In Hybrid

First on our list of incredible options is the 2020 Niro Plug-In Hybrid. This small SUV comes with a hybrid-optimized 1.6-liter engine, paired with an electric motor and lithium-ion polymer battery. This delivers up to 26 miles of all-electric range and 46 mpg combined. The responsive six-speed automatic transmission with Sport Mode delivers seamless acceleration. Convenient charging options include Level 1 at 120 volts, which can be achieved through any outlet you already have at home. Level 2 is for the 240-volt public charging stations that provide faster charging.

Optima Hybrid

Classic Optima design is now paired with hybrid technology to bring you the 2020 Optima Hybrid. A six-speed automatic transmission and 2.0-liter engine produce up to 271 pound-feet of torque for the power you want. The high-density lithium-ion polymer battery and electric motor deliver hybrid efficiency to get up 42 mpg combined. One trim level is available with features such as Hybrid Blue accents, leather seat trim, and heated front seats.

Optima Plug-In Hybrid

Not only is the Optima available in a hybrid, but it’s also available in a plug-in version. The Optima Plug-In Hybrid delivers even more efficiency with the option to go fully electric for a period of time. It comes with a 2.0-liter engine and high-density lithium-ion polymer battery with the ability to charge at home or on the go. You may want to consider having an electrician install a Level 2 charging station at your home for even faster charging. A number of safety options, including blind-spot collision warning, forward collision-avoidance assistance, and rear cross-traffic collision warning, come standard to help keep you protected in this model.

Niro EV

Last on our list is the advanced Niro EV. This all-electric option takes a new approach to the Kia hybrid vehicle lineup. The ability to charge at home or on the go gives you the versatility to travel wherever you need to go while also lowering your carbon footprint. Level 2 charging will take between nine and 10 hours for a full charge, while compatible DC fast chargers can get you an 80% charge in just over an hour.

Electric doesn’t mean less power. Get up to 201 horsepower and 291 pound-feet of torque for a thrilling driving experience. The regenerative self-braking system will capture kinetic energy when you decelerate and use it to recharge the battery so energy isn’t lost while on the road.
