Kia’s Drive Wise Technology: Advanced Safety Features

Kia Drive Wise is a range of advanced driver assistance safety systems designed to help protect you and your passengers from accidents. These systems use radar, sonar, and cameras to identify potential dangers and warn you so you can take action. Drive Wise operates like an additional set of eyes on the road. Smart Cruise Control w/ Stop & Go

When driving, you often have to brake and then accelerate again in response to other vehicles. Smart Cruise Control helps take the fatigue and hassle this causes away, as you can decide on the following distance from other cars you want and set that, and your cruising speed. Once this system has the necessary information, it will automatically maintain the desired distance and speed until you intervene.

If a vehicle ahead slows down or stops, Smart Cruise Control can also slow down and stop if necessary. Once the car in front moves again, your engine can restart, and your Kia will continue to follow your pre-set distance and speed instructions. This feature also uses a camera to identify the lane line markings and will keep you centered in your lane.

Remote Smart Parking Assist

Almost every driver has had to park in a very narrow parking space at one time or another. This can be a headache, as the vehicles parked on either side can make it a challenge to get out of your vehicle, and later, get back in again. When you drive a Kia, you never have to have this problem again. You can control the process using your smart key fob.

Push the top button on the back of your fob to activate the system, and you’ll notice flashing side mirror lights and direction indicators. Turn the fob over and press the middle button on the front to start your engine, then press the middle of the lowest button, depending on whether you want to move your Kia forward or backward.

Parking Collision-Avoidance Assist-Reverse

When you shift into Reverse, this system activates and uses specialized sensors concealed in the rear bumper to scan the area directly behind you for vehicles, pedestrians, animals, or stationary objects. If something is detected, you’ll hear a warning beep, and a warning triangle icon will appear on your front screen to alert you.

If you continue to move and a collision is imminent, this system can automatically engage emergency braking, reducing chances of a collision or reducing the damage caused.
