Engine Specs

The Kia Forte comes in three available trims: LX, S, and EX. The LX and S come with a 2.0-liter DOHC 16-valve Atkinson cycle engine with Multi Point Injection, while the EX comes with a 2.0-liter DOHC 16-valve engine with Gasoline Direct Injection. Both engine types feature Dual Continuously Variable Valve Timing (D-CVVT) for increased power and efficiency.

The S and EX are paired with the six-speed automatic transmission only, and the S trim sees the same estimates as the LX with the automatic. The EX, however, gets an average 25 mpg city and 33 mpg highway.

In the Ultra-Low Emission Vehicle II (ULEV-II) category, the LX and S are capable of producing 147 horsepower and 132 pound-feet of torque. Meanwhile, the EX gets 164 horsepower and 151 pound-feet of torque. All three trims feature a MacPherson strut front suspension and rear suspension with torsion beam.

When it comes to driving in style, the 2017 Kia Forte has you covered. The LX features 15-inch steel wheels, the S comes with 16-inch alloy wheels, and the EX rounds out the list with 17-inch alloy wheels. Performance-wise, all come standard with heated outside mirrors, variable intermittent windshield wipers, solar control glass, a tire mobility kit, and projector beam headlights.
