The warranty on your vehicle is peace of mind if there is ever a defective part or covered damage. When you purchase a car from your Kia dealership, you will automatically get the benefit of a new car warranty.

The warranty for a new Kia is actually separated into four limited coverage plans, which are all bundled into the same warranty program. The limited basic warranty, which provides bumper-to-bumper coverage, will last for five years or 60,000 miles. The limited powertrain warranty lasts for 10 years or 100,000 miles and covers parts such as the drivetrain, engine, and transmission.

Kia offers a standard limited anti-perforation warranty to protect the body panels from rust and corrosion for five years or 100,000 miles. Roadside assistance is also standard for five years or 60,000 miles, which includes benefits such as flat tire service, jump-starts, and towing to the closest authorized dealership. Other short-term warranties included in your standard warranty include:

Battery Warranty

Your Kia battery will be covered for replacement if the original factory battery stops working within the limited warranty period. This specific warranty will last for the first three years or 36,000 miles of your Kia car ownership.

Audio System Warranty

The stereo system and other entertainment features in your Kia will be eligible for replacement if these components are deemed defective during the first three years or 36,000 miles after you purchase your Kia.

What Are Exclusions?

Although the standard Kia warranty is comprehensive, there are still several exclusions you should be aware of. Your Kia warranty will not cover parts that are damaged from lack of maintenance, neglect, abuse, car accidents, environmental damage, or improper repairs. Parts that are frequently replaced due to normal wear and tear, such as brake pads, are also not covered under your standard warranty.

Ask Your Kia Dealership: Does Your Used Kia Have a Warranty?

Kia vehicles that are part of the certified pre-owned program will be sold with a warranty. In order for a vehicle to join Kia’s certified pre-owned program, the vehicle must pass a 164-point inspection and meet other Kia standards. Kia gives drivers peace of mind with a series of manufacturer-backed warranties for used vehicles.

All CPO Kia cars have a limited powertrain warranty for 10 years or 100,000 miles, which starts from the original in-service date for the vehicle. Used Kia cars also have bumper-to-bumper coverage for 1 year or 12,000 miles under the Platinum coverage plan, as well as 10 years of roadside assistance starting from the original in-service date. Travel breakdown coverage and rental cars are also included.
