There are also many trails to explore, a playground, picnic facilities, and a gift shop.
The park offers both RV and tent camping, but many prefer to stay in one of the cabins. However, if you want an even more unique camping experience, you could stay in a cabin directly over the lake on the pier. If you haven’t been to this beautiful state park yet, you should check it out on your next trip.
2. Poinsett State Park
Poinsett State Park is located about an hour from Orangeburg and provides access to a lake, beautiful babbling creeks, trails, and more. Guests enjoy fun activities like camping, fishing, swimming, hiking, and paddling. There is a playground for children and plenty of beautiful scenery to enjoy.

3. Aiken State Park
Aiken State Park is located on the South Edisto River, making it a popular spot for paddlers. Located just under an hour from Orangeburg, this is a great spot to visit if you want to enjoy fun on the river. You can also enjoy activities like hiking, fishing, and boating.
If you need to cool off, you can take a refreshingly cool dip in the beautiful spring-fed swimming hole. Daily entrance is just $3 for adults and $1 for children. There are also tent and RV camping sites available if you want to stay longer.
4. Barnwell State Park
Barnwell State Park is only about 39 minutes from Orangeburg and provides visitors with access to a total of three lakes to enjoy. This park is most known for its abundance of aquatic life, and fishing is a favorite activity here.
Guests even have access to the Tackle Loaner Program, so you can be ready to hit the fishing pier. Other popular activities include paddling, swimming, and hiking. Camping and cabins are also available for anyone who wants to stay a little longer.
